The album was conceived to highlight the band's influence on the history of rock music and bring together many of the Beatles' most influential rock songs. It is named after the Revolver album track Tomorrow Never Knows, which is featured on the compilation. 11 tracks 38:23. It was released in August 1966 as the final track on their album Revolver, although it was the first song recorded for the LP. The song marked a radical departure for the Beatles, as the band fully embraced the potential of the recording studio without consideration for reproducing the results in concert. The Boats Tomorrow Time is a little behind the times in their evolution. Transforming the beauty of their former album's piano-loop instrumentals to a trendy downbeat electronic pop. Tomorrow Time comes off with the subtle nature of Dntel's debut but lacks the depth of production featured there. The Boats have added both male and female vocals to textured minimalist beats along with samples of Colleen styled string patterns. The effect is undeniably beautiful but often becomes boring with the overdramatics of the well documented subgenre. If you're a fan of the Boats and considering buying it then I'd bite the bullet and go for it. For anyone interested, this vinyl pressing is excellent. It plays perfectly well, no pops and crackles (apart from all the glitchy noises that are supposed to be on there). It sounds really nice too, crisp, warm and quite sharp.
